HOW IT WORKS:
Prevents Accelerated Aging of the Skin: Repeated exposure to UVA rays can cause accelerated aging in the skin. UVA rays have the longest wavelength and can penetrate through clouds, rain and glass, and are present from sunrise to sunset at the same strength. These rays can penetrate to the dermis and cause wrinkles, sagging skin and hyperpigmentation. Micronized Zinc Oxide has the ability to scatter and deflect these rays.
Protects Against Sunburn: UVB Rays are responsible for sunburn. Unlike UVA rays, UVB has a shorter wavelength and is unable to reach through clouds, rain and glass. UVB rays are strongest in the summer and from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. If left unprotected, these rays can cause sunburn and long term damage to the surface of the skin. When applied before sun exposure,
Micronized Zinc Oxide has the ability to scatter and deflect these rays.
Protection from Infra Red and Blue Light: Constant exposure to Blue Light from computer screens, TVs and cellphones can reach to the dermis and cause damage that leads to accelerated aging. Infra Red can also penetrate deep into the skin and cause damage. Topical application of antioxidants, such as Vitamin E can help to protect the skin and repair existing damage.
Matte finish and Does Not Leave Residue on Skin: Because the zinc oxide used in this formulation is micronized, it does not leave residue on the skin once applied. It has a matte finish and is safe for use on all skin types and all skin tones.
What SPF is best for skin?
An SPF 30 provides protection against approximately 97% of the sun’s UV rays. It is important to know and understand the difference between physical and chemical sunblock. A chemical sunblock needs to be applied at least 30 minutes before sun exposure and works by absorbing UVA/UVB rays.
A physical sunblock is effective instantly once applied and works by deflecting and scattering UVA/UVB rays.
What does SPF stand for?
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. When it is displayed with a number, it is a measure of how long a topically applied sunscreen will protect your skin from the sun’s UVB Rays. These rays are responsible for sunburn.
